Production Manager – Chemical Manufacturing

Location: Mobile, AL

Salary: $120,000 – $140,000/year + Bonus Potential

Relocation Assistance: Available (2-year payback agreement)

Job Summary

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of a department within a chemical manufacturing facility, ensuring production goals are met efficiently and safely while maintaining high-quality standards. This role involves managing personnel, coordinating production processes, and ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily operations of the chemical production department, ensuring efficient and safe production processes.
  • Monitor production schedules, equipment maintenance, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure that all production targets, quality standards, safety, and PSM regulations are met.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers, technicians, and other operational staff.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols, industry regulations, and environmental guidelines (e.g., OSHA, EPA, ASME, API).
  • Develop and manage the department’s budget, ensuring cost control and resource optimization.
  • Work with the quality assurance team to ensure that the final products meet regulatory and customer standards.
  • Continuously assess and optimize plant processes to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve sustainability.
  • Report on production progress, issues, and performance metrics to upper management.

Qualifications

Education: A bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.

Experience:

  • 5-10 years of experience in chemical manufacturing.
  • Proven track record in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Experience in process optimization and safety management is crucial.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of chemical processes, plant operations, and related technologies.
  • Ability to manage, motivate, and develop teams.
  • Capacity to analyze and resolve complex operational, technical, and safety issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
  • Expertise in data analysis, process monitoring, and performance reporting.
